Okay, so at least I’ve kept up with posting pics of the little peanut, but haven’t been writing posts as often as I’d like. So here’s a little brainstorm, in no particular order, of all things Piers.
-         Piers loves to throw anything that he can get his hands on into the bathtub
-         One of Piers’ first words, that he used consistently and in context, was “uh-oh.” Sometimes he even says it before he drops something. I’ve tried to tell him that “uh-oh” usually indicates a mistake/accident, not something that was done on purpose
-         Piers LOVES the bottle of sunscreen we keep in the bathroom cabinet – I’ve even found it in his crib
-         Piers still hates having his diaper changed – and his clothes, for that matter
-         And of course, still hates wearing hats, and now, getting his winter coat on
-         Piers loves to be picked up, but likes to be put down soon thereafter; after all, he has places to go
-         Piers loves kitties – on Thanksgiving 2010, he even attempted, with some success, to say “kitty”
-         Shortly after Piers’ 1st Birthday he started saying “ball” (I consider “ball” his first real word)
-         Piers also likes to say “der” “da” “bah” and “gai” – mommy and daddy aren’t always quite sure what he always means
-         Piers thinks the word “no” is hilarious. Every time he tries to climb up the stairs (one of his favorite hobbies) or shake the floor lamp, he hears the word “no” and laughs a sinister little laugh.
-         Piers loves to help mommy with the laundry – he especially loves when it rains warm clothes from the dryer
-         Piers also loves to help with the dishes – he likes to take the silverware out (we’ve learned to put the knives in the back) and climb on top of the dishwasher
-         When Piers is upset, he lays his head on the floor and cries (Academy-award worthy dramatics)
-         Piers is finally starting to warm up to table food. He loves green veggies (green beans and peas), noodles & cheese. And he LOVES crackers, especially Ritz, he’s even been known to cry when he sees the box and wants more
-         Piers even tried a bite of bacon, and liked it!
-         As for spoon-fed food, Piers is a big fan of yogurt and apple sauce
-         Piers loves daycare – he loves playing with the other kids
-         Piers is also a little ladies man. Apparently he has two girlfriends at daycare, Thalecia and Elanina. His teacher told that within a two-day period, he was seen holding hands with both of the girls! However, Thalecia is his true love.
-         Piers still isn’t a big napper, but does go down pretty easily at bedtime. When he’s tired, he barely even makes a peep when he goes down in his crib
-         Piers is an avid reader. He loves books! He especially loves his Kitty book.
-         Like most men, Piers has an affinity for any and all remote controls
-         Piers is learning to dance, when he hears a beat, he squats up and down to the rhythm
-         Piers loves his bongo drum, and carrying it from one room to the other. In fact, Piers loves schlepping objects from one room to the next
-         Piers loves soft pillows, he buries his head and snuggles into blankets and pillows whenever he gets the chance
-         Piers thinks the FUNNIEST thing in the world is watching someone walk up and down the stairs. He laughs aloud every time!
-         He also giggles when he sees someone running – or pretending to chase him
-         He also loves to chase, and be chased, around the kitchen and living room
-         At 13 months, Piers has at least 8 teeth, and more coming in as we speak
-         Piers is the first kid in history to refuse the traditional first birthday cake, after a reluctant bite, we finally got a “num-num” (which means he approves)
-          Piers took his first steps when he was 11 months and 6 days old. He is now a full-fledged runner.
-         Piers loves to help Mommy dry her hair with the hairdryer, and loves when I “dry” his as well
-         Piers is really good at telling Mommy and Daddy exactly what he wants – and isn’t shy about it
-         But can be shy in an unfamiliar group (or semi-unfamiliar)
-         At 13 months, Piers knows to hold his toy phones up to his ear (thank goodness he isn’t mock-texting. . . at least not yet)
-         Even shy of 12 months, Piers knew when his books were turned upside down
-         Piers is a fiend for the bottle – he can turn anything and everything into a bottle – a bottle of Tylenol, a canister of formula, anything!
-         At first Piers wasn’t a big fan of milk (vs. formula) but eventually warmed up to it!

There is so much more, but that’s a little taste of our lives with Master Piers. Never a dull moment, and not a thing we would change.
