If the Name Fits. . .
Phew! We are finally starting to adjust to our new world - and so is Piers, luckily. When I first set out to recraft this blog with Piers in mind (or Baby-to-Be, rather), I thought about changing the name of the blog; after all, the original moniker, "Insatiable Appetites" seemed outdated and reminiscent of our restaurant-reviewing days. Little did I know how fitting the title would be. I must have known deep down that I would someday have a son with an "insatiable appetite." Piers loves his food! He loves eating and loves anything to do with food (not at all like his mama)! The mere sight of the bottle gets him excited! At 9 weeks, Piers weighs a whopping 13.3 lbs (and is 23" tall)! Oofhhfda! Mama's back is getting sore! Many exciting things have gone on over the last month or so. Piers celebrated his first Christmas, receiving lots of love (and gifts!!) from his many admirers. He also met Santa and viewed the Macy's 8th floor display; he loved looking at the bright lights and watching the animated figurines. Unfortunately, Daddy was sick on Christmas Eve, but we didn't let it spoil the fun. We stayed in and watched "It's a Wonderful Life," and read "T'was the Night Before Christmas." Piers rang in his first New Year by sleeping through the night for the first time - too bad mommy and daddy stayed up with friends until 3am ! We also celebrated Daddy's 32nd Birthday - first a surprise lunch at Punch Pizza and again at Buca. Grandma and Grandpa M even joined in the festivities! Piers reached another milestone this past month - he received his first set of immunizations (aka, shots)! Mommy and Daddy cried right along with Piers! It was so hard to see our little peanut in pain! On another sad note, Mommy's maternity leave is quickly coming to a close! I will miss hanging out with my little stinker during the day - but a mama's gotta do what a mama's gotta do!! Til next time. . .anyone wanna guess how big Piers will be at the 3 month mark?
