I'm Crawling!

Guess what - I finally figured out how to crawl! On July 3rd I took my first steps forward - Daddy was so excited he barged into the bathroom where Mommy was taking a shower and nearly gave her a heart attack! Now I can go wherever I want! I follow Mommy and Daddy into the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom - they are my favorite people and I want to be with them all the time! Not to mention I get to do so much exploring - I love it! Speaking of my favorite people, I've developed a bit of a fear of strangers, and by strangers, I mean anyone that isn't Mommy or Daddy. I get scared when someone new comes over or if we are at someone else's house and Mommy or Daddy leave the room. No matter how good of a mood I'm in, I will usually start to cry. I just love my Mama and Dada so much I want to keep tabs on them. Oddly enough, I'm usually fine when they take me out in public.

I'm having so much fun exploring my world - I love to bang on the computer key board with my hands - I'm quite the typist. I've also been told I may have a future as a drummer - I love to bang my hands on any table or hard surface I can get my hands on - it just makes such a cool noise. I get so proud of myself I just smile. Mommy loves my smile - it's a big toothy grin (still only have two teeth). I smile really big, like a kid that overdoes the word "cheese" when getting his picture taken. Mommy has a feeling I have some cute school pics in my future!

Not to brag, but I'm still as cute as can be. Even strangers have called me handsome. The teacher at daycare told Mommy I was "Mr. Popularity" because everyone always wants to play with me. But I won't let my cuteness go to my head - I will use my powers for good, not evil!

Another activity I'm digging lately is the Johnny Jumper that Grandma and Grandpa M bought for me. It saves my Mama and Dada in the morning when they are trying to get ready for work. I also like Art - my teacher at daycare said I like to get my hand in the paint and play, but that's not very surprising, I like to get my hands on anything I can, especially things I'm not suppose to touch. My most favorite hobby, however, is going for walks with Mommy and Daddy. They like to take me down to the Aster Cafe for weekend brunch. I'm a city boy that can appreciate a bit of nature!

Things I don't like so much - getting dressed, undressed or having my diaper changed. Ever since I started rolling over I can't stand to lay on my back. Plus, who has the patience for a diaper change? And putting a life jacket on, forget it! For the record, I also can't stand wearing hats and nap time.

I have two new toys - an Ernie doll and a little table with lots of neat buttons that make funny noises. Ernie and I became instant friends. When Daddy introduced us at Babies R Us, we immediately hit it off. It doesn't hurt that he happens to be my favorite color - orange!

I can't talk yet, but I sure do know what I want and get excited when Mama and Dada give me exactly what I ask for. I get excited when I see my Mama and Dada, bottle and Johnny Jumper. I'm not sure if my mom has ever told you, but I laugh in silence - I open my mouth so wide with so much excitement, that I barely make a peep. It's like it's so funny I just can't stand it! As far as eating goes, I'm getting much more adventurous. For awhile there I didn't like anything that had a taste - I only liked my rice and oatmeal cereal, but I've really ventured out. I eat all sorts of yummy things now. My favorite is Green Beans and Rice (I know, crazy, right?)
