Kramarczuk's Deli (and so much more)

Have you seen the Ikea commercial where the lady goes running out of the store because she got such a good deal she's convinced it must’ve been a mistake? That’s how I felt the first time I ate breakfast at Kramarczuk’s Deli. Cheap-eats abound at this one-of-a-kind Polish Sausage Company & Café in NE Minneapolis. Two heaping platefuls of gourmet eggs, scrambled with your choice of fresh fixings (you pick 'em – Subway-style) with your choice of either 4 double-length sausage links, or a mound of hash browns and all you can eat bread for less than $5 bucks/person! Add two cups of coffee (free refills) and your total is a mere $6 bucks/person.

Add to that a stylish, yet homey, atmosphere, a friendly staff with authentic Eastern European accents and you might just get the urge to jet off to Poland – good thing "Book It Travel," a small travel agency, is actually housed within the walls of the café. Adjoining the café is the famous Deli & Bakery – sausages so big you silently vow vegetarianism (no big sausage jokes, please) & baked chocolate chunk cookies worth the extra poundage (at least, that's what you'll tell yourself).

Just in case baked goods & meat aren't your thing (you should be ashamed), there are all sorts of fun imported grocery items to browse through, everything from yogurt & instant potatoes to things I can't pronounce. Kramarczuk's is a one-of-a-kind place that makes me proud to live in NE – it’s a genuine staple of the neighborhood that not only represents its Eastern European roots and lively population, it also just might inspire you to "Book It," and experience what your really missing.
