Punch Pizza

We must apologize for our lapse in adding to our blog. With the recent engagement, and the fact that we are leaving for Europe in a week, we have been quite busy. But don't be disappointed, we still have been out and about a lot lately and we have several places to review, just bear with us.

With all the reviews that we have done so far, we have failed to mention our local pizza joint that we go to more than any other restaurant in the area, Punch Pizza. There are a handful of locations popping up all over the metro area, but I think the Northeast location is the best. . . at least of the ones I've been to.

Punch make its pizza in the "neapolitan" style, which is authentic Italian style from Naples, Italy. This is where pizza was born.

The crust is very thin, with a small amount of sauce, toppings and cheese. It is hand made right in front of you and thrown into a wood burning oven which cooks the pizza in 90 seconds. The pizzas are cheap and absolutely delicious. Although I have grown up to love thick crusts and lots of toppings and cheese, I think Meryl Streep was right when she said this was the best pizza she had ever eaten.
