Greetings from Krakow, Poland! This is going to be quick, but Kirk and I are on day 4 of our 2007 European adventure. We arrived to Krakow yesterday morning after taking the night train from Berlin, Germany. Berlin was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect combination of Amsterdam and Paris - quiet and serene like Paris; funky little canals like Amsterdam. Surprisingly, the "East side" was much more lively and hip than the West.
Krakow is quintessential Europe. The Main Market is the place to be. All around the market and side streets are little bars and restaurants with the word "Pod" in their title - meaning "under." Down you go into little underground caves. We can't get enough of these places - they are just so unique and unlike anything we have ever seen - even the McDonalds has an underground cellar that you can enjoy your Big Mac in.
Can't wait to write more and post pics. Wish us luck on the night trian to Budapest, Hungary, tonight - the night train here was less than glamorous - that's for sure. I'm typing fast and there's no spell check on this - so, that's why this is such a mess, if you're wondering.
