The first stop on our Europe '06 trip was Bruges, Belgium, a relatively small medieval town about an hour train ride from Brussels. The beauty of Bruges is too difficult to describe in words, and most people don't believe such a place still exists, thus pictures are the only things that really can do it justice. The Belgians are known for 3 things, waffles, chocolate and some of the most delicious and interesting beers in the world. Belgian beer may not be the "best" in the world, however it certainly is the most unique and each beer is served in its own distinctive glass.

We were only in Bruges for 1 night, I wish it were more. We stayed at the Snuffel backpacker Hostel, the only "hostel" of our trip, which is right in the middle of town. Nothing special, but it was cheap and it made me feel like I was in college again.

On our way to Paris, we had a 3 hour stopover in Brussels. Since we were only in Brussels for such a short time there is really nothing to say about it, but here are some photos.
