Tres Magnificent - Paris

Although this was my 3rd trip to Paris, and Jayme's 2nd, I can't get enough of this place. Each time I get here, my experience is better and the city keeps calling me back because there is so much I have yet to see. The city is art in motion, and the energy that I feel when I am here is amazing. Although you're not supposed to take photos of classic works of art, I couldn't resist, hence the Van Gogh you see on this page. No, that is not just a replica, that is Van Gogh's actual painting of L'eglise d'Auvers-sur-Oise in the Orsay Museum, that I got yelled at in French for taking the picture.

We were in Paris for 2 nights and we stayed at the Hotel Levique on the Rue Cler, located in Paris' 7th district, which is within walking distance of many top sights.

I could come back to this city for the rest of my life and each experience would be different. Viva la France.

A note from Jayme: I have two favorite memories of Paris. The first was when Kirk & I had the cab driver drop us off at the Tour de Eiffle in the wee hours of the morning - we were the only two people there (okay, the dude selling the little tower was there too, but he doesn't count - I'm still wondering why he was even still out there). Everyone in the world knows about the Eiffle tower, but at that moment, it was just the two of us. Simply Amazing.

The other thing I will never forget is waking up early & strolling the streets of Paris. I watched a woman walk out of a boulangerie, inhaling the intoxicating scent of her baguette; uniform-clad school children no higher than my knee, speaking a language I could only dream to learn. While the other tourists slept, I quietly stirred among the locals, wondering how they do it. Some mysteries aren't meant to be solved.
